Julia Cosgrove, MS MFT
Julia holds a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Edgewood College in Madison, Wisconsin and has experience working with individuals, couples, and families. Her professional interests include the treatment of trauma, grief and loss, phobias, anxiety disorders, social discomfort, depression, body image issues, intimate partner conflict and phase of life difficulties.
Julia has Level 1 and 2 training in EMDR, a type of therapy that helps the brain reprocess both major and minor traumatic events. This type of therapy has many different applications and has been found to be most effective in treating issues that have stemmed from distressing past experiences, even if those experiences are not readily identifiable. Please visit http://www.emdr.com/faqs.html for more information on EMDR and if it might be helpful for you. You may also contact Julia directly with any questions you may have about this type of treatment.
As a lifelong lover of animals, Julia has seen the soothing effect an animal’s presence can have in stressful situations. She is happy to have Zoe the therapy dog sit in on any session.
Julia is currently accepting new clients. Please contact her with any questions you may have about starting therapy or to set up an appointment.
